Boater, Dog Rescued From Long Island Sound: Stamford Fire (patch.com) — A late-night emergency on Long Island Sound off Westcott Cove brought Stamford firefighters and their dive team out to rescue a boater and dog from a flooding 24-foot vessel. Using a fireboat and infrared drone, crews stabilized the boat, towed it safely to West Beach, and highlighted their round-the-clock commitment to Stamford residents on the water.

2. 9 Stamford Students Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists (patch.com) — Nine Stamford students from AITE, King School, and Westhill High have been named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, placing them among the top scorers nationwide. Local families can follow their progress as they submit applications, essays, and test scores in hopes of advancing to finalist status and competing for scholarships in 2027.

3. Stamford Resident Wins Big Scratch-Off Lottery Prize (patch.com) — A Stamford resident has claimed a $10,000 grand prize from the Connecticut Lottery's 10X CASH 18th Edition scratch-off game. The winning ticket, bought at West Broad BP on West Broad Street, was one of 225 grand prizes available among more than 5.2 million tickets.

Man arrested in courier scam in Stamford (newportdispatch.com) — Stamford police arrested a New York man accused of helping run a courier scam that cost an 82-year-old victim more than $100,000, with a court appearance scheduled in Stamford Superior Court. Investigators warn residents that real government agencies never send couriers to collect cash or valuables and urge anyone targeted to call Stamford police at (203) 977-4444.
