Coaches and players are already focused on Friday's crucial matchup with undefeated Waterford, hoping to avoid an 0-4 start and stay competitive in their ECC Division III schedule.

• Connecticut man who attempted to join ISIS sentenced (thechronicle.com) — A West Haven man who tried to travel through Stonington to reach Syria and join ISIS has been sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison plus lifetime supervision. Federal officials say he pledged allegiance to ISIS, ran an online propaganda channel, and even plotted a jail uprising while detained, underscoring why investigators intercepted him at the Stonington dock.
