• Dog Found In 'Heartbreaking Condition' In Stratford, Officials Say (patch.com) — Stratford residents are being asked to rally around Wiley, a severely emaciated three-legged German Shepherd found roaming near Roosevelt Forest and now under the care of the Stratford Animal Rescue Society. The group says veterinary costs and ongoing treatment for Wiley and other animals are straining its budget, and it's seeking donations through its Facebook page to keep providing lifesaving care.

Residents can buy cards online, enjoy a limited-time bonus of up to 25 percent, and redeem them at participating restaurants, retailers, and service providers throughout Stratford.
   

• Road Closure In Place For Final Phase Of Project In Stratford (patch.com) — Stratford drivers face an extended closure of River Road as the final phase of replacing a 100-year-old utility tower moves ahead under state and Eversource oversight. Mayor David Chess says a detour is in place through Sept. 19, and town departments are coordinating to support affected businesses and maintain emergency services access.
