• Hundreds lost power across Connecticut after Sunday's flooding (ctpost.com) — Stratford was among the hardest-hit towns Sunday night, with 453 United Illuminating customers losing power after intense morning storms and flash flooding across Connecticut. Nearby Shelton and Bridgeport also saw significant outages, while Eversource reported hundreds more customers without electricity statewide as heavy rain and falling tree limbs strained the grid.
   

• Notre Dame Prep football stuns No. 7 Bunnell behind 6 touchdowns from Ja'cari Harris (ctpost.com) — A big opening-week upset on Stratford's home turf saw Bunnell fall 57-21 to visiting Notre Dame Prep, powered by sophomore Ja'cari Harris's six rushing touchdowns and 260 yards. The Bulldogs actually led 21-20 at halftime in Stratford before Notre Dame's dominant second half flipped the game and snapped Bunnell's long winning streak in this matchup.
