Suffield Sets Nov. 16 Hearings On 100-Unit Housing Plan, Assisted-Living Density

The zoning commission continued the South Main Street housing hearing and scheduled consideration of an assisted-living zoning change.

Suffield's Planning and Zoning Commission will hold public hearings Monday, Nov. 16, on a proposed 100-unit housing development and an assisted-living zoning change. The commission scheduled both hearings at its Monday, Oct. 19, meeting, according to minutes published by the Town of Suffield.

The housing proposal from MI 22, LLC concerns an unaddressed parcel east of South Main Street, behind 156 South Main St. The affordable housing site plan application was submitted under Connecticut General Statutes Section 8-30g. At the applicant's request, the commission voted 6-0 to continue the hearing to its November regular meeting.

The separate application from WELL, LCB Landlord, LLC would increase maximum assisted-living density in residential and commercial zones from five to 5.5 units per acre. The proposal would amend Section V.F.3.c of the zoning regulations. Commissioners voted 6-0 to accept the application and set its hearing for the same November meeting.
