The Duck River Garden Club of Old Lyme and East Lyme Annual Mother's Day Plant Sale is a much anticipated and loved event. This year the sale  will held be at the Lyme Art Association at 90 Lyme St. Old Lyme. Shoppers will enjoy browsing our wide variety of annuals, vegetables and herbs, native pollinators, geraniums and our popular hanging baskets. One of the highlights of the sale is the Member's Plant Area featuring plants from our members' own gardens. Proceeds from the sale support the club's scholarships for Old Lyme and East Lyme, civic beautification for sites in both towns, public education programs, and senior programming.  Sale dates are: Friday, May 8, 12-6 pm and Saturday, May 9, 9 am-1pm

Final Year – get in on Runfest in 2026! Choose from three race opportunities in one incredible venue along the beach and trails of Rocky Neck State Park. Explore the natural beauty on well-marked roads and trails, including the Bride Brook salt marsh, the historic stone Ellie Mitchell Pavilion and the Four Mile River tidal area. Ideally set up in a central location with high-energy atmosphere for relay exchanges, participants and spectators can gather, cheer, refuel and easily access the nearby finish line. The post-race party is one not to be missed with live music, hot bRUNch from Flanders Fish Market, and incredible camaraderie.
CHOOSE AN ADVENTURE:
<ol><li>Rocky Neck Relay: Each member of the 3-person team takes on one road 5K and one trail 5K with a break in between rotations. A centrally located exchange zone lets team members relax, refuel and cheer others when not in their run rotation. All teams cross the finish line together at the beach.</li><li>Rocky Neck 30K: Solo adventure with 5K rotations of road and trail courses for a total of six legs, approximately 18.6 miles. The early spring adventure will test endurance with a beautiful, challenging trail venue complimented with the road course in and around the campground area.</li><li>Rocky Neck 5K, trail OR road: Both offer picturesque views of Rocky Neck State Park and a stunning finish overlooking beautiful Long Island Sound. The trail 5K is part of the USATF-CT Mountain, Ultra and Trail (MUT) race series.</li></ol>
All participants will earn a technical shirt and custom designed finisher medal.
Spring Shoreline Challenge: A twist on the popular race series, the new multi-race challenge explores three beautiful race courses in participants’ distance of choice through the spring! Sign up for any distance at the Rocky Neck Runfest in April, the Mystic Half Marathon &amp; 10K in May and then at the L+M Hospital Summer Stride 5K &amp; 10K in June. This summer in celebration of the United States’ 250th&nbsp;birthday, the Lyme Art Association is having a special art show, titled&nbsp;A Connecticut History, which honors, questions, and illuminates the distinguished stories, people and places that continue to shape Connecticut’s identity. Show is on view June 5-July 17.&nbsp;A Connecticut History&nbsp;consists of landscapes, portraits, still lifes, and sculpture related to the history and identity of Connecticut. It includes traditional &amp; historical scenes, contemporary reinterpretations, plus conceptual approaches to depicting the state’s people, places and stories in order to create a show that honors tradition, reflects change, and offers fresh and illuminating perspectives on what defines and shapes Connecticut’s identity.&nbsp;&nbsp;Running concurrently is the Hudson Valley Art Association (HVAA)’s&nbsp;93rd Annual Juried Exhibition. This show aims to preserve and encourage the knowledge, craftsmanship and respect for form, color and design, which are distinguishing elements in fine art painting and sculpture. HVAA’s annual exhibition at LAA includes oils, aqua media, pastels, graphics, and sculpture.&nbsp;Lastly, come appreciate the creativity of young artists, ages 5-18, in&nbsp;My Town.&nbsp;Inspired by Connecticut’s rich history,&nbsp;My Town&nbsp;encourages young artists to explore what makes their community unique by depicting its people, places and culture, through artwork that is realistic, imaginative, or personal.&nbsp;My Town’s&nbsp;awards ceremony is June 20 at 11 am. June 20 is also&nbsp;Family Day at LAA, which features fun art activities for all ages, and live music performed by Kipp Sturgeon, and the Wandering Fiddlers.&nbsp;All shows are on view June 5-July 17. Opening reception for&nbsp;A Connecticut History&nbsp;and HVAA’s exhibit is Saturday, June 13 from 5-7pm.&nbsp;Founded in 1914 by the American Impressionists, the Lyme Art Association continues&nbsp;the tradition of exhibiting and selling representational artwork, as well as offering art&nbsp;instruction, lectures, and other community programs. It is located at 90 Lyme Street in&nbsp;Old Lyme, CT, in an iconic 1921 building designed by renowned architect Charles Adams&nbsp;Platt and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
