64-Year-Old Charged Following Bank Altercation In Vernon

VERNON, CT — A 64-year-old man is due in court Tuesday to face criminal charges connected with an altercation at a bank in Vernon, police said.

Vernon police Monday released details of the Feb. 25 incident.

At about 10 a.m. that day, the man was inside the Bank of America branch at 243 Hartford Turnpike, according to an arrest report.

The man became "angry and belligerent" toward staff members and refused to leave, according to an arrest report. He even threatened to kill a staff member and made "physical contact" with her, prior to leaving, according to an arrest report.

Police then took him into custody after a traffic stop, according to an arrest report.

He was charged with simple trespass and second-degree breach of peace.
