October In Vernon: Fall Fun, Festivals & More

Fall is officially here in Vernon, and there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of it. From festivals and farmers markets to pumpkin patches, live music and other seasonal fun, October brings plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy what’s happening close to home.

Here are some events and activities happening in and around Vernon this October.

Halloween Boutique

When: Oct. 9, 10, 12, 16, 17 & 24, times vary
Where: Cornerstone Foundation | 1C Prospect Street, Vernon

Find a Halloween look for the whole family at Cornerstone’s Annual Halloween Boutique, offering free costumes for kids and parents at Cornerstone in Vernon. The boutique will be open on select dates from Oct. 9 through Oct. 24, 2026, and children must be present to choose their costumes; registration is available through Cornerstone Cares.

Annual Harvest Festival & Craft Fair

When: Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Strong Family Farm | 274 West Street, Vernon

Celebrate the season at Strong Family Farm’s Annual Harvest Festival & Craft Fair on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026. This free, all-ages event will feature pumpkin decorating, seasonal crafts, fall games, farm animals, live entertainment, local vendors, treats and plenty of autumn photo opportunities.

Monster Truck Or Treat

When: Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, 2 p.m.
Where: Connecticut Golf Land | 96 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon

Halloween gets a supersized spin at Monster Truck or Treat at Connecticut Golf Land on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m. Families can see real monster trucks and featured cars, dress up in costume and fill their candy buckets during a family-friendly trunk-or-treat on The Green.

Halloween Trunk Or Treat

When: Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, 4:30 to 6:15 p.m.
Where: Henry Park | 120 South Street, Vernon

Vernon families can celebrate Halloween from their cars at the Halloween Trunk or Treat at Henry Park. The drive-thru event is open to Vernon residents and offers treats for the first 500 children, along with festive displays throughout the park; cars must enter from South Street and walkers, bikes and scooters are not permitted.

Scare Time After Dark

When: Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, 10 p.m. to midnight
Where: Spare Time Vernon | 350 Talcottville Road, Vernon

Keep the Halloween festivities going late with Scare Time After Dark at Spare Time Vernon on Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, from 10 p.m. to midnight. For $15.99 per person, guests get two hours of unlimited bowling, shoe rental, party lights and music, with food and drinks available for purchase; the special is available to walk-ins only.
