Valedictorian, Salutatorian, Named For Rockville High School Class of 2026

VERNON, CT — The Administration of Rockville High School Friday announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2026.

Here they are:

Aidan Lang, the Valedictorian, is the son of Julie Lang and David Lang, Jr. He will attend Northeastern University in Boston, participating in the John Martinson Honors Program.

He will be entering the University’s Explore Program for Undeclared Students. At Rockville High School, Aidan
participated in student government, the National Honor Society, the trivia team, the Robotics team,
the Debate Club, the Peer Advocates, the varsity Golf team, and the Math team. Outside of school,

Aidan was an assistant golf coach with the First Tee Program, a tutor, and a peer mentor through the Next Step Program. He has been recognized for academic excellence as a National Merit Commended Scholar and an AP Scholar with Honor. He also received the SAT School Recognition Award, the Seal of Biliteracy in French, and the Business and Computer Science Education Award.

Kyle Shalaev, the Salutatorian, is the son of Jennifer Stanley, Jesse Stanley, and Ruslan Shalaev. He will attend the University of Connecticut in the fall, majoring in Physiology and Neurobiology with a potential minor in Neuroscience.

At Rockville High School, Kyle was a leader in the student
government and founded the Robotics team. He also was a member of the trivia team, the Debate Club, the Writing Club, and the Math Team.

For his academic excellence, Kyle has been recognized
as a National Merit Commended Scholar and an AP Scholar with Honor. He also received the Rensselaer Medal, the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, and the Harvard Book Award.
