The Midterm Election: What Just Happened and Why

Historically, midterm elections serve as a tough referendum on the sitting president, usually favoring the opposition party. But did this cycle follow the traditional script, or did the electorate chart an unexpected course? In this talk by political scientist and Wallingford resident Marc Lendler, we’ll unpack the key drivers behind the results. We will analyze whether Republicans sustained their 2024 momentum among Hispanic voters, measure the real impact of unprecedented mid-decade redistricting, and examine what these outcomes signal for the 2028 presidential race. Join us for a clear, data-driven breakdown of where the political landscape stands and where it’s headed next.
