Officers say the robber displayed a knife, stole cash, and fled on foot, though no one was hurt. Detectives have released photos and are urging anyone with information to contact Waterford police.

Waterford Hotel Group reports data breach (hartfordbusiness.com subscription) — A data breach at Waterford-based Waterford Hotel Group may have exposed sensitive personal information, including Social Security and passport numbers, to an unknown intruder. The company, headquartered on Hartford Turnpike, says it has secured its systems, completed a forensic review, and is now notifying affected individuals while stressing there's no evidence yet of identity theft or fraud.

Women's Cross Country to Compete at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday (babsonathletics.com) — Babson College's women's cross country team will soon head to Waterford, Conn., for the Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness Park on October 17, bringing regional collegiate competition to the shoreline. The team is coming off a strong showing at Smith College and will face several top-ranked New England programs before returning to race on Waterford's coastal course.
