• Quaker Hill Resident Wins Big On Scratch-Off Ticket (patch.com) — A Quaker Hill resident connected to the Waterford area has claimed a $20,000 prize from the CT Lottery's 20X Cash 10th Edition scratch-off game. The winning ticket was bought at a Cumberland Farms in nearby Oakdale, and lottery officials remind players to sign and safely store their tickets until claiming prizes. 
• Monaco Modified Series Set To Bookend Summer At New London-Waterford Speedbowl On Labor Day Weekend (racedayct.com) — Race fans in Waterford can catch the Monaco Modified Series returning to the New London-Waterford Speedbowl this Sunday, Sept. 6, for a 100-lap Labor Day weekend showdown and tight championship battle. Gates open at 1 p.m., with qualifying at 2:45 p.m. and the feature around 4:15 p.m., plus a free kids' club offering games and activities at the track.
