• Electric Boat cheers move into new campus at former Crystal Mall in Waterford, Conn. • Rhode Island Current (rhodeislandcurrent.com) — Electric Boat is transforming Waterford's former Crystal Mall into an 800,000-square-foot campus that could employ up to 5,000 people and become the town's largest employer by 2027. Local and federal officials say the project, tied to a massive Navy submarine contract, could jump-start housing construction and broader economic growth across southeastern Connecticut for years to come.
