“Amelia Classical Music Series (ACMS) was established with the mission to introduce and promote both renowned and emerging performers in a captivating concert format,” the organization said in a description of the program.
“We are dedicated to providing our audiences with the unique opportunity to experience live performances in an intimate setting.”
The recital will feature selections from Bach alongside music from Haimovitz’s “Primavera Project,” a set of newly commissioned works inspired by Primavera by Sandro Botticelli.
The project explores themes of renewal, nature, and transformation through contemporary compositions.
According to the series, the program is intended to create “a rich musical dialogue that bridges centuries and highlights the enduring expressive power of the cello.”
Haimovitz is known for combining canonical repertoire with contemporary works and for performing in both traditional and unconventional venues.
His career has included appearances on major international stages, including performances connected to the Venice Biennale.
Series organizers said the concert offers local audiences an opportunity to hear one of the instrument’s most inventive performers in a program that blends historic and modern perspectives.
The Amelia Classical Music Series aims to present concerts that “showcase musical excellence” while creating “an engaging and memorable experience for all who attend,” according to its mission statement.
