Motor Vehicle Assessments Up For Appeal In West Hartford This Week
West Hartford vehicle owners can challenge assessments from the Grand List during appeal sessions on Sept. 17 and 19.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford residents who want to challenge their motor vehicle assessments will have two opportunities this week to bring their cases before the West Hartford Board of Assessment Appeals.
The board will hold sessions Thursday, Sept. 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. in Room 142 at West Hartford Town Hall.
The hearings are for motor vehicle assessments on the Oct. 1, 2025, Grand List, according to the town.

Appeals will be heard on a first-come, first-served basis.
The registered owner of the vehicle, or an appointed agent acting on the owner's behalf, must bring a completed application form to the appeal session.

Vehicle owners should also bring any information supporting their contention that the assessor did not base the assessment on the vehicle's original manufacturer's suggested retail price, according to the town.
