• Permanent Donation Trailer Sought At West Hartford Shopping Plaza (patch.com) — West Hartford residents will soon have a chance to weigh in on whether a GreenDrop donation trailer at the Newington Road shopping plaza can stay permanently. The Town Plan and Zoning Commission has set a Sept. 9 public hearing on a special use permit for the 358‑square‑foot mobile trailer, which already operates daily near Dollar Tree and Crazy Bruce's Liquors.
   

• West Hartford Woman Honored With Major Volunteer Award (patch.com) — A West Hartford resident, Jennifer Byrne, has been honored with Girls on the Run International's Remarkable Volunteer Award for her decade-plus of work growing the Greater Connecticut council. Her leadership, coaching, fundraising, and support have helped expand programs for girls across multiple counties while inspiring local participants, including her own daughters.
   

• Driver Hits West Hartford Police Cruiser, Flees To Farmington, 2 Hartford Residents Charged: Police (patch.com) — West Hartford police say a driver fleeing a traffic stop struck a police cruiser on Prospect Avenue, then led officers on a pursuit that ended in Farmington, where two Hartford residents were arrested. No injuries were reported, and multiple charges were filed, including narcotics and paraphernalia offenses. Police are asking anyone with information to contact WHPD or submit anonymous tips.
