West Hartford Symphony Orchestra To Honor Retiring Maestro
He will be honored during a special tribute concert this weekend.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the career of longtime conductor Richard Chiarappa during a farewell pops concert on Sunday, May 17.
The concert, titled “A Grand Finale,” is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Northwest Catholic High School, 29 Wampanoag Drive, West Hartford.
The performance will mark Chiarappa’s final season leading the orchestra after 23 years as music director and conductor.

Organizers said Chiarappa helped found the community orchestra and led the organization for more than two decades.
Tickets are priced at $20 for general admission and $15 for seniors and students.

Children younger than 12 will be admitted free.
Tickets are available by calling 860-521-4362 or through the orchestra’s website at whso.org.
Audience members and supporters are also invited to submit congratulatory messages for Chiarappa to include in the concert program booklet.
