Man Found Guilty Of Sexual Assault, Robbery Of Blind Woman At West Haven Massage Parlor: Prosecutor

The man is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 13, 2027.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A Stamford man was found guilty this week in a 2024 home invasion, robbery and sexual assault of a legally blind woman at a massage parlor in West Haven.

A jury in Superior Court in Milford convicted Terrell Meynard, 44, on four charges: home invasion, third-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, and first-degree sexual assault, according to an announcement from Margaret E. Kelley, State's Attorney for the Judicial District of Ansonia/Milford.

Evidence presented at trial showed that on Aug. 18, 2024, the victim, a 57-year-old legally blind woman who operated a massage parlor on the first floor of a building on Main Street in West Haven and lived on the second floor, heard the doorbell to her business ring several times, Kelley said.

When she opened the door to see who it was, Meynard pushed open the door, grabbed her by the neck, and demanded money from her, Kelley said, noting Meynard then took her through each room on the first floor of the business to look for money.

When the victim, who did not speak or understand English, tried to speak, he told her to be quiet and made her sit in silence, Kelley said.

Meynard later tied the victim up with a phone cord charger, threatened her with scissors, made her undress and sexually assaulted her, according to Kelley. Meynard took the victim upstairs and went through all the rooms on the second floor to look for more money. He fled the building with $600 of the victim's money, her credit cards, ID, and both of her cellphones, Kelley said.

The victim could not call police since she did not have a phone available, so she left the building and found her landlord in the parking lot, who called police, Kelley said.

Police used license plate readers, cellphone data, historical cell site and DNA analysis, and help from federal, state, and local law enforcement to ultimately arrest Meynard on Dec. 19, 2024.

Meynard is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 13, 2027, in Superior Court in Milford.
