• Special Olympics Connecticut Bocce Competition Returns To West Haven: PHOTOS (patch.com) — Hundreds of Special Olympics athletes and families packed Old Grove Park in West Haven for a statewide bocce festival, with the city hosting for the third straight year. Mayor Dorinda Borer, local sponsors like Riva Bar & Restaurant, and West Haven volunteers helped welcome nearly 300 competitors, turning the seaside courts into a showcase of inclusion, hometown pride, and unified sports.
   

• $2.5M State Grant Announced For Downtown Infrastructure Upgrades In West Haven (patch.com) — Downtown West Haven is in line for a $2.5 million state grant to upgrade streetscapes, improve pedestrian access, and revitalize the business district around the Green and Curtiss Place. Over the next two years, the plan would add event-friendly public spaces and launch a microgrant program to help Village Improvement District small businesses improve facades, fill vacancies, and attract more foot traffic.
   

• Man Accused of Kidnapping 5-Year-Old From Bus Stop, Threatening to Kill Boy (ledger-enquirer.com) — A regional kidnapping case has ties to West Haven, where an argument at a Family Dollar preceded a man allegedly abducting a 5‑year‑old from a New Haven bus stop. Police say tense phone negotiations and an AMBER Alert led to the child's safe release in Bridgeport and the suspect's later arrest in Branford, with multiple serious charges now pending.
