West Haven Marking 25th Anniversary Of 9/11 With Bradley Point Ceremony (patch.com) — West Haven is inviting residents to a 25th anniversary 9/11 remembrance at Bradley Point Park, featuring local officials, honor guards, and community performers. The ceremony will honor nearly 3,000 victims, including West Haven resident Richard S. Gabrielle, and continue the city's long tradition of Patriot Day observances with music, prayer, and flags at half-staff.
   

2. West Haven Marks Overdose Awareness Day With Proclamation, Free Naloxone Training (patch.com) — West Haven's Health Department recently marked Overdose Awareness Day on the steps of City Hall with a mayoral proclamation, purple lights, and a call for residents to wear purple. Staff provided free, confidential naloxone training and distributed more than 30 overdose-reversal kits, underscoring the city's commitment to supporting affected families and reducing stigma.
   

3. West Haven amends ordinance to ban powered e-bikes on city's boardwalk (nhregister.com) — West Haven has unanimously updated its ordinance to ban powered e-bikes, scooters, and other electric-propelled devices from the city's shoreline boardwalk and sidewalks, with violations carrying a $100 fine. Exceptions are allowed for city and maintenance vehicles, and officials may revisit how broadly the "boardwalk" area is defined, but residents say the change is needed to keep pedestrians, especially seniors and families, safe.
   

4. Suspect Bites West Haven K-9 Ado While Being Apprehended: Police (patch.com) — West Haven police say K-9 Ado was bitten by a suspect during an arrest on I-95 North in town, but fortunately suffered no visible injuries and never let go. Officers and state troopers avoided injury as Ado helped subdue an erratic driver who allegedly tried to flee, highlighting the crucial role of the department's K-9 unit.
