Pickup Truck Drives Through Fence, Strikes House In Westport: FD (patch.com) — Westport firefighters and police responded Thursday after a heavy-duty pickup truck crashed through a fence and down a sloped yard before striking a house on Hillspoint Road. A stone wall helped limit damage, and officials brought in a wrecker to safely remove the partially suspended vehicle. The building department and fire marshal evaluated the home's structural safety, and no serious injuries were reported.
   

2. Bronx man stopped while driving allegedly stolen Kia (westportjournal.com) — Westport police arrested a 24-year-old Bronx man Monday morning after a license plate reader flagged the Kia Forte he was driving on Post Road West as stolen from East Haven. Officers say they also found his license was suspended, leading to multiple felony charges and upcoming court dates in Stamford and Bridgeport.
   

3. 25 years since 9/11 marked at Connecticut memorial ceremony in Westport (fox61.com) — Westport hosted Connecticut's 25th anniversary 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at Sherwood Island State Park, drawing a standing-room-only crowd to honor the 161 victims with state ties. Families and friends laid white roses, shared memories of loved ones, and reflected on how the loss still shapes their lives, while statewide tributes continue with landmark lightings in red, white, and blue.
   

4. 'Students Speak': The Cafeteria Tables — And The Response (06880danwoog.com) — A Bedford Middle School eighth grader from the area raises concerns about cramped round cafeteria tables, arguing they make it hard for Westport students to include all their friends at lunch. Principal Adam Rosen responds thoughtfully, explaining why the school chose round tables to reduce exclusion, while promising to address crowding so students can eat comfortably and feel more included.
   

5. Runners carrying American flags in 9/11 tribute due to reach Westport about midnight (westportjournal.com) — Late tonight, a 9/11 memorial flag relay is scheduled to pass along Post Road East in Westport just before midnight, honoring the two flights that left Boston on September 11, 2001. Organizers expect the runners to enter town around 11:57 p.m., continuing along Route 1 toward Norwalk, and residents can track their exact progress online via live GPS.
