• P&Z votes to close controversial field lighting hearing in split vote (westportjournal.com) — Westport's Planning & Zoning Commission has closed public hearings on a hotly debated plan to add 70-foot light poles at PJ Romano and Wakeman B fields, moving the proposal toward a September vote. Neighbors worried about late-night light, noise, and student sleep clashed with parks officials and student athletes who say the town urgently needs more playable field time.
