Westport's Compo Beach Dog Rules Take Effect This Week (patch.com) — Dog owners in Westport should prepare for seasonal rules at Compo Beach starting Oct. 1, when leashes are required except in a designated off-leash area south of the pavilion. Dogs remain banned from the pavilion, playground, walkways, and all athletic fields, including Luciano Park, with violations carrying a $77 fine. Residents can review the full 2026 Parks and Recreation regulations on the town website.
