3. Town to collect from state $2.1 million reimbursement for Coley Middle (westportjournal.com) — Westport taxpayers will see a boost as the town secures an extra $2.1 million in state reimbursement for the $32 million Coleytown Middle School renovation, raising aid to $6.82 million. After years of construction, closure from mold, and a complex state review, local officials and legislators worked together to win a space waiver that increased the reimbursement rate from 14 to 21 percent.
   

4. Mother of shooting victim Caroline Ashworth can sue St. Vincent's (insideinvestigator.org) — A Connecticut Supreme Court ruling means a negligence lawsuit against SVMC Holdings, owner of St. Vincent's Medical Center in Westport, can partly move forward over the 2022 murder of Caroline Ashworth by her former boyfriend. The court held that mental health providers who know a patient poses an imminent risk to an identifiable victim have a duty to take reasonable steps to protect that person, allowing several claims to proceed toward a 2027 trial.
