WESTPORT, CT — A 37-year-old Westport man was arrested last week on a charge of first-degree possession of child sexual abuse material following an investigation that began with information from the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

Alexander Perry turned himself in at Westport Police Headquarters on Friday and was arrested on warrant.

The case began when Westport Police Department was contacted by the state police unit in April 2025 about suspected child pornography being shared online, according to authorities.

"The two transmitted files, both videos, depicted suspected child sexual abuse material (child pornography)," wrote Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso in a statement. "A follow-up investigation was conducted to confirm details provided along with the original information, and it is alleged that [Alexander] Perry was responsible for transmitting these files. An arrest warrant was sought and granted for him."

Perry is accused with emailing two files that contained the material "on two separate occasions between two email addresses" associated with him, police said. Additional details were not disclosed.
