Westport Selectmen To Consider $325K Wakeman Farm Contract, Land Use Planning Agreement
Additionally, the selectmen will review sewer infrastructure, Riverside Avenue traffic changes, and other matters next week.
WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Board of Selectmen is scheduled to consider a $325,500 contract for building work at Wakeman Town Farm and an agreement for consulting services related to the town's 2027 Plan of Conservation and Development when it meets Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the Westport Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Ave. The public may attend in person, and the meeting is scheduled to be livestreamed on the town's website and/or broadcast on Optimum Government Access Channel 79, subject to availability.

Among the items scheduled for possible approval is a $325,500 contract with Country Carpenters Inc. of Hebron for the Wakeman Town Farm Barn Building Shell project.
The proposed contract includes $139,465 for Building 1 and $186,035 for Building 2, according to the agenda, which was revised Oct. 9 to reflect the total contract amount.

The board also will consider accepting a $19,000 donation of services from Coastal Luxury Homes LLC for the demolition and removal of the Wakeman Town Farm shed. The donation amount was added to the agenda in an Oct. 9 revision.
In another item involving land use, the selectmen are scheduled to consider approving a consulting services agreement between the town and Buckhurst Fish & Jacquemart Inc., doing business as BFJ Planning.
The agreement, recommended by the town's Planning and Zoning director, would provide land use planning consulting services for Westport's 2027 Plan of Conservation and Development. The services are described in a town request for proposals dated Feb. 20, 2026.
Traffic, Sewer And Environmental Matters
Acting as the Local Traffic Authority, the board is scheduled to consider approving roadway striping changes and associated parking restriction signs along Riverside Avenue.
The proposed changes would affect the section of Riverside Avenue between its intersections with Treadwell Avenue, Saugatuck Avenue (Route 33) and Bridge Street.
The agenda does not provide additional details about the proposed roadway configuration or parking restrictions.
Acting as the Water Pollution Control Authority, the board also will consider accepting a public portion of the sanitary sewer mainline extension at Hiawatha Lane.
The proposed action includes accepting the sewer infrastructure for connection, transferring ownership and authorizing its incorporation into the town's sewer system.
The matter is governed by a June 16, 2025, permit agreement between the town's Water Pollution Control Authority and The Village at Saugatuck Owner LLC.
The selectmen also are scheduled to consider approving a subordination agreement involving a town drainage easement at 25 Ford Road.
The agreement would benefit the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and relates to the property owner's proposed recording of a Declaration of Environmental Land Use Restriction and Grant of Easement on the town's land records.
Tax Refunds And Public Participation
Other agenda items include possible approval of refunds for tax overpayments, as recommended by the town's tax collector under Connecticut General Statutes Section 12-129.
The board also is scheduled to consider approving minutes from the Sept. 23 meetings of the Board of Selectmen and Water Pollution Control Authority.
