Westport's 2026 'Kickoff To Summer' Event Postponed

The event, hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department, was scheduled for this weekend at Compo Beach.

WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Parks and Recreation Department is postponing its "Kickoff to Summer" event this weekend due to expected inclement weather, officials announced.

"Due to inclement weather, the Parks and Recreation Department's Kickoff to Summer event and mural unveiling scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, has been postponed," officials wrote in a statement. "A new date has not been determined, but we will share additional information as soon as it becomes available. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with the community soon!"

The seasonal celebration was slated to feature food vendors, a "Touch-a-Truck" experience with vehicles from the Westport Police, Fire, EMS, Public Works and Parks and Recreation departments, in addition to an obstacle course and other activities.
