• Windsor Company To Pay $2.58 Million In PPP Loan Settlement (patch.com) — A Windsor-based manufacturer, Fabbrica LLC, will pay $2.58 million to resolve federal allegations that it improperly qualified for a pandemic Paycheck Protection Program loan. Federal prosecutors say the company exceeded employee limits for its 2021 second-draw loan, though no court findings were made. The settlement is one of several PPP-related agreements announced in Connecticut.
   

• CT-owned intersections are getting video detection upgrades. What that means for drivers (courant.com) — State transportation crews will soon upgrade traffic signal technology at two busy Windsor intersections on Route 159 at Route 218 and at Route 178, bringing temporary weekday lane restrictions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Starting Oct. 17, new cameras and radar will replace in-road sensors to improve traffic flow and safety without recording drivers. Expect periodic delays through the multi-year project.
   

• Windsor leaders say 'hate is not welcome' following vandalism (ctmirror.org) — Windsor officials are condemning a string of vandalism incidents, including a torn-down Pride flag at First Church and stolen memorials honoring Black residents in local cemeteries. The mayor, state leaders, and civil rights advocates are urging residents to reject hate and support investigations, which Windsor police are leading with possible state police assistance. Community and church leaders vow to replace symbols and stand with targeted groups.
