East Windsor Road Closed

The East Windsor road closure came after storms brought flooding concerns and widespread power outages across the state.

EAST WINDSOR, CT β€” A section of Windsorville Road was closed Tuesday because of standing water across the roadway, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

Police said Windsorville Road was closed between Apothecaries Hall Road and Chamberlain Road. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

The closure came after rounds of wet weather moved through Connecticut, including storms that left more than 100,000 people in the state without power as of 10:20 p.m. Sunday, according to WFSB, citing Eversource and United Illuminating.

Temperatures were expected to stay unusually cool Tuesday, topping out in the upper 60s and lower 70s, WFSB reported. Fog was possible Wednesday morning before brighter and more seasonable weather returned. Humidity and warmer temperatures were expected Thursday, with another chance for showers late Thursday night and storms possible Friday afternoon or evening.
