• 25 Years: Windsor Locks Ceremony To Honor FDNY Members Lost On 9/11 (patch.com) — Windsor Locks residents are invited to a Friday morning ceremony at the Connecticut Fire Academy marking 25 years since 9/11 by honoring every FDNY firefighter who died. Starting at 9 a.m. on Perimeter Road, each fallen member will be remembered with an individual memorial sign and photo, while no separate East Windsor observance is currently listed.

• Bradley Airport completes expansion of main security checkpoint (hartfordbusiness.com) — Travelers using Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks will now see a larger, fully operational main security checkpoint with two additional TSA lanes and more queuing space. The upgrade, part of a $250 million terminal overhaul, also restores TSA PreCheck to the main checkpoint and reroutes arrivals through new exit corridors to improve passenger flow and baggage handling.

• Coventry girls soccer defeats Windsor Locks/East Granby in home opener 2-0 (thechronicle.com) — Windsor Locks/East Granby's girls soccer co-op fell 2-0 on the road to Coventry in the Patriots' home opener, despite a strong defensive effort that kept the game close. Coventry controlled possession and finally broke through late in the first half, adding pressure in the second as Windsor Locks/East Granby couldn't convert their few late chances.
