Speed Cameras Coming To I-91 Work Zone
CTDOT says the automated work zone speed control equipment will be used for about two weeks during maintenance work on I-91.
EAST WINDSOR, CT — Automated work zone speed control equipment is expected to be used on I-91 in East Windsor beginning the week of June 28, according to a Connecticut Department of Transportation notice sent to First Selectman Jason Bowsza.
The mobile equipment will be used while crews perform various maintenance operations along the highway, according to the June 25 CTDOT letter.
The equipment is expected to be in use for about two weeks, though CTDOT said the schedule could change because of weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.

The automated work zone speed control system will issue warnings only to vehicles traveling 10 mph or more over the posted speed limit, according to CTDOT. No citations or monetary fines will be issued during this phase.
The equipment will be operated by CTDOT’s vendor, Acusensus, according to the notice.
