• Delaware man kills motorcyclist in road rage shooting, state police say (nbcphiladelphia.com) — A Bear resident was killed in a daytime road-rage shooting at a Newark intersection, according to Delaware State Police. Investigators say 46-year-old motorcyclist Jason Paoletti of Bear was shot after a confrontation with a car’s passenger, who has since been arrested and charged, and victim support services are being offered statewide.
   

• 8-year-old Delaware runner breaks records at national track and field meet (nbcphiladelphia.com) — An 8-year-old track standout from Bear just broke a national 100-meter record at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Iowa, putting the community on the youth sports map. Emeri Cotton, whose family runs the Bear-based Cotton Club Posse running club, also won the 200 meters and will soon be back home training and enjoying time with friends before her next big meet.
