Welcome to Emo Night Brooklyn, a late-night, DJ-driven dance party blasting the best emo and pop punk jams that raised us, ruined us, and somehow still define us. We’re taking over 9:30 Club in Washington on 18 April 2026 for a night of screaming every word, moshing with strangers, and feeling absolutely everything.
This is not a quiet night out. Expect wall-to-wall emo and pop punk anthems, deep cuts, and songs you still know by heart even if you pretend you’ve “moved on.” From the tracks that got you through your worst years to the ones that still hit a little too hard, Emo Night Brooklyn is all about losing your voice, finding your people, and reliving the music that made us who we are. And yeah sometimes special guests and your favorite artists even jump in to join the chaos.
Come ready to scream, mosh, dance, cry in the corner (no judgment), and throw yourself into the pit with all your favorite people. Tell the DJs what you want to hear and we promise we listen better than your ex. It’s loud, it’s emotional, and it’s the kind of night that reminds you it was never just a phase.

Tell Out My Soul: What’s The Story and Who’s Telling It?

Montahj Social is partnering with Mahjong United to introduce Traditional (Hong Kong–style) Chinese Mahjong through a series of beginner lessons and social play sessions.

Led by Jennie Mak, a community-based mahjong educator in the DC area, these gatherings approach mahjong as both a game and a cultural practice centered on learning, connection, and shared play.

Beginner lessons are designed for those new to the game or in need of a refresher, covering foundational rules and guided gameplay. Social play sessions welcome all experience levels, offering a relaxed environment to build confidence, practice strategy, and connect with others.

Beginner Lessons:
Learn the fundamentals of Traditional (Hong Kong–style) Chinese Mahjong with guided instruction and gameplay.
Cost: $65 per person

Social Play Sessions:
Open to all levels. Includes 3 hours of gameplay, light bites, and all materials. Instructors available for support.
Cost: $45 per person

ICA Language Services (ICA), a family-owned, woman-led small business based in Arlington, is celebrating its 40th anniversary, marking decades of supporting the U.S. military and diplomatic community through language training and testing. Founded in April 1986 as Inlingua Foreign Language Center, a 6-classroom language school, ICA expanded under the leadership of Deidre Doyle, an entrepreneur with a background in organizational management who joined the company the same year. As a military spouse, she had developed a deep understanding of military organizations and culture, helping shape ICA into a trusted provider of language training and testing for military professionals. Doyle became a partner in 1993 and sole owner in 2009, when she changed the name to ICA Language Services. Today, ICA operates a 60+ classroom schoolhouse in Rosslyn and has delivered nearly five million hours of language instruction and more than 30,000 language assessments across 120+ languages. ICA also provides training on military bases throughout the US and abroad. The company is now led by President and CEO Lexie Casey, Doyle’s daughter, who joined ICA in 2009 after a decade in government contracting. Casey became a partner in 2014 and assumed day-to-day leadership in 2015, when Doyle transitioned to Chair of the Board. ICA has employed more than 1,300 individuals from 131 countries, often providing a first job in the United States for language professionals. Certified by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, ICA provides proficiency- and performance-based language training and testing services supporting diplomacy, security, and global engagement.
