This FL Fast Food Burger Named Among Best In Nation

MIAMI, FL — Burger King's iconic Whopper was named among the top contenders for America’s best fast food burger in a recent ranking from USA Today.

The newspaper’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards of 2026 ranked the Whopper at No. 8 on the list, between Wendy’s Son of Baconator at No. 9 and Five Guys’ cheeseburger at No. 7. California-based Habit Burger & Grill’s Double Char took the top spot.

“The second-largest fast-food hamburger chain in the world introduced us to the Whopper in 1957,” USA Today said in the ranking. “Every year, Burger King sells more than a billion of these burgers made with flame-grilled beef patties topped with tomatoes, shredded lettuce, mayo, pickles, ketchup, and sliced onions — all on a sesame seed bun.”

Burger King is based in Miami.

The Whopper improved in this year’s USA Today ranking, up from ninth place in 2025. The Whopper also came in at No. 8 in 2024.

The USA Today 10Best fast food burger ranking is determined by editors and an expert panel, as well as readers voting for their favorites.
