Tense Brunswick town hall on ‘fugitive dust' ends in commitments to ‘being good neighbors' (thecurrentga.org) — Southside Brunswick residents packed a town hall to confront companies over persistent wood pellet dust they say coats their homes and threatens their health. Port-related firms, including Logistec, pledged to be more responsive, while local leaders and environmental advocates pushed for concrete steps. Neighbors left with promises but also warnings that stronger action may follow if conditions don’t improve.

The Brunswick-Glynn Joint Water & SewerCommission, NPDESPermit GA0025313, inaccordance with (thebrunswicknews.com) — A recent sanitary sewer overflow at Lift Station 4002 on Reynolds Street in Brunswick sent nearly 16,000 gallons of wastewater into storm drains leading to the East River. Crews fixed a failed valve within about 50 minutes, and the Brunswick-Glynn Joint Water & Sewer Commission is now conducting spill sampling near Mary Ross Waterfront Park and the UGA Marine Extension dock to monitor water quality.
   

3. Man accused of robbing Georgia Dollar General stores (wsbtv.com) — Police say a Memphis man has been charged in connection with two Dollar General robberies and a purse theft that recently rattled several Brunswick neighborhoods. Investigators describe cash stolen from registers, an elderly victim assaulted, and a suspect found hiding on a vacant property roof. The case remains active, and authorities are asking Brunswick residents to share any additional information.
   

4. How gas prices have changed in Georgia in the last week (macon.com) — Drivers in the Brunswick area are paying about $3.81 per gallon for regular gas this week, just under the Georgia average of $3.83. Prices statewide have dipped a few cents over the past seven days but remain far higher than a year ago. The report also compares Georgia’s relatively low prices with much costlier West Coast states.

Port of Savannah sets container volume record for September (statesboroherald.com) — While Savannah set a container record, the Port of Brunswick saw auto and heavy machinery cargo volumes drop 22% in September compared with last year.
