Fire Ravaged Carport At Clearwater Home: Watch (patch.com) — A Sunday night fire tore through a wooden carport at a Clearwater home on Fairwood Lane, prompting officers to evacuate nearby residents as a precaution. Clearwater firefighters quickly contained the blaze before it reached any houses, and police later shared officer bodycam footage of the dramatic response.
   

2. Amendment 3: Clearwater plans for potential $20M revenue loss (fox13news.com) — Clearwater officials are bracing for a possible $20 million property tax revenue loss over two years if statewide Amendment 3 passes in November, which could hit parks, recreation centers and libraries hardest. City leaders have already approved the 2027 budget and imposed a soft hiring freeze while they weigh potential service cuts, even as state and regional leaders debate the merits of the tax break.
   

3. ST. PETE FOOLS HIT THE ROAD FOR A CAUSE Annual Charity Ride brings Tampa Bay together to raise funds and create tangible impact in the community. (stpetecatalyst.com) — A major charity motorcycle ride will kick off at OCC Road House in Clearwater this November, drawing riders from across Tampa Bay to support local kids and families. The fully escorted ride crosses the Sunshine Skyway and funds the St. Pete Fools' bike and toy drives, which have grown from a handful of donated bicycles to thousands for children in need.
   

4. Pinellas County Utilities temporarily switches to chlorine for water disinfection – [your]NEWS (yournews.com) — Clearwater residents will notice a stronger chlorine smell or taste in their tap water through October 10 as Pinellas County Utilities temporarily switches from chloramine to chlorine for routine system cleaning. Officials say the water remains safe to drink, advise running taps for five minutes to reduce odor, and note dialysis patients generally should not be affected but can check with their centers.
   

5. Little Feat Add Dates, Will Close The Last Farewell Tour in 2027 (relix.com) — Little Feat has added new dates to its Last Farewell Tour, including a March 7 stop at The BayCare Sound in Clearwater with Old Crow Medicine Show. The veteran band plans to end the tour in 2027 but will keep adding dates, giving Clearwater fans a final chance to see them live on this extended farewell run.
