Three New Restaurants Open At Clearwater Beach Resort (patch.com) — Visitors and residents on Clearwater Beach now have three new dining choices at the Opal Sol resort, including tacos and tequila at Lolita's Coastal Cocina, sweets at Float Malt Shop & Creamery, and coffee and grab-and-go meals at Beach Market. All three are open to the public at street level, expanding food options along the popular Beach Walk near Opal Sands.

Florida considers $30 million Clearwater land deal (wusf.org) — State officials are weighing a $30 million purchase of nearly 28 acres at Mandalay Point on Clearwater Beach to keep the shoreline undeveloped and protected. The deal would safeguard rare coastal habitats, benefit Clearwater Harbor waters, and potentially limit future development at the island's northern tip, while still needing further approval through Florida's Florida Forever process.

Volunteers rescue sea turtles trapped in storm drain near Clearwater (wsvn.com) — Sea turtle volunteers and a Pinellas deputy helped rescue disoriented hatchlings from a storm drain near Clearwater after improper beachfront lighting led them astray. With Clearwater Marine Aquarium confirming the turtles were safely returned to the Gulf, Indian Rocks Beach officials are tightening lighting compliance to better protect nesting turtles along nearby shores.
