• Got junk? Take advantage of the semi-annual waste amnesty day in Hendry (wgcu.org) — Clewiston residents can dump household junk for free at the Clewiston Transfer Station during Hendry County’s semi-annual waste amnesty event from April 20–25. You’re limited to two loads or two tons, but can bring yard waste, construction debris, old appliances, furniture, and a few tires. Commercial waste isn’t accepted, so this is strictly for residents’ cleanups.
   

• U.S. Sugar recognized by Hendry County Commission (lakeonews.com subscription) — Clewiston recently hosted a Hendry County Commission meeting where U.S. Sugar’s community relations director, Brannan Thomas, was formally recognized for the company’s support in building the county’s first amphitheater, which opened in December 2025. The recognition highlights ongoing investment in the Harlem amphitheater and Clewiston-area community amenities.
