• Drunk driver involved in 2024 fatal crash on Cortez Road sentenced to 25 years in prison (mysuncoast.com) — A driver has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a high-speed, alcohol-related crash on Cortez Road that killed a passenger and severely damaged another vehicle. The 2024 collision, just east of Cortez, also left the driver injured and led to lifetime loss of the offender’s license, significant fines, and a decade of supervised release after prison.
