• Deputies Nab Davenport Driver After Late-Night Road Rage Gun Scare (hoodline.com) — Late Tuesday night, a driver was arrested after a reported road‑rage confrontation near U.S. 17‑92 and Ernie Caldwell Boulevard in Davenport, where victims say he pointed what looked like a gun at them. Polk County deputies took the Davenport man into custody, and he now faces aggravated assault charges while investigators and prosecutors determine how the pepper‑ball device fits under Florida law. 
• 'They Don't Do This In Wisconsin!' — Wisconsin Man Shocked By Quick Arrest In Florida (tampafp.com) — A retail theft at a convenience store along US 27 in Davenport ended with a swift arrest after Polk County deputies used license plate information to track down a Wisconsin visitor. Investigators say the 28‑year‑old suspect was identified through the Real Time Crime Center and charged with second‑degree retail petit theft after allegedly fleeing the store in a Wisconsin‑plated SUV.
