City leaders say the budget will fund police, fire rescue, parks, infrastructure, neighborhood services, cultural programs, and support for nonprofits, though they haven’t yet shared the total budget size or detailed vote breakdown.
   

• South Florida schools lose 35,000 students in another year of steep enrollment declines (sun-sentinel.com) — Palm Beach County schools are losing students, and Carver Middle in Delray Beach has shed 186 students over the past two years, part of a broader regional enrollment decline. While Broward and Miami-Dade are closing campuses, Palm Beach officials say they’ll keep schools open for now and instead look at new programs, co-located services, and even building a new elementary school elsewhere.
