ā¢ Florida secretary of commerce raises concerns over $2.6B Fort Meade data center plan (fox13news.com) ā Fort Meadeās city commission has approved a development agreement for a proposed $2.6 billion data center on former phosphate mine land, but the project still faces extensive state and regional reviews. Floridaās secretary of commerce is warning it could strain central Floridaās water, power, and transportation systems, while local residents question environmental impacts and unclear job benefits as key permits and an eventual operator remain undecided.
