• Polk County detention deputy killed in off-duty crash on I-4: PCSO (fox13news.com) — Frostproof residents are mourning a Polk County detention deputy assigned to the South County Jail in town, who died after an off-duty crash on I-4 near Haines City. Investigators say his SUV suddenly braked and crossed lanes into a pickup’s path, and the sheriff’s office is still determining whether the driver will face any charges.
