• Six men face federal charges in armed kidnapping at Hollywood's Margaritaville resort (sun-sentinel.com) — Two people were allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint from Hollywood’s Margaritaville resort and Broadwalk, then driven across Broward County, threatened, burned and robbed before eventually escaping and contacting police. Six young men now face federal kidnapping and conspiracy charges, are being held in a Broward jail, and are awaiting arraignment later this month.
   

• Russian national charged in hit-and-run involving Hollywood police officer (sun-sentinel.com) — A Hollywood police officer was seriously injured when a speeding driver allegedly crossed the median on North Ocean Drive near Hollywood Boulevard and crashed into the officer’s patrol car, then fled. Detectives say the 20-year-old suspect left the area using a rideshare and was later arrested in Chicago, with Hollywood detectives now working to bring him back to Broward County.
