• Firefighter honored after rescuing captain during Hollywood high-rise blaze (local10.com) — A Hollywood firefighter has been honored for rescuing his captain during last year’s deadly high-rise condo fire in the city. Rookie firefighter Robert Brito shared his air supply in near-zero visibility, an act Hollywood Fire Rescue leaders say shows the value of training and teamwork, earning him the Rotary Club of Hollywood’s Service Above Self Award.
• Offset Shot, Sued In Rough Week For Rapper (cardplayer.com) — A recent shooting at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood left rapper Offset injured but expected to recover, according to representatives and police. The incident, reportedly following an altercation with rapper Lil Tjay’s group, comes the same week a Detroit casino sued Offset over an alleged six-figure gambling debt, adding national attention to a Hollywood location.
