Key West chief celebrates BSO deputies' arrest of 21-year-old man accused of fraud (local10.com) — Key West residents should know that Police Chief Sean Brandenburg is crediting strong cooperation with Broward deputies after a 21-year-old Pompano Beach man was arrested on a Monroe County hold in a fraud case tied to a Key West check. Detectives say the suspect altered a $15 check to $5,000 and changed the payee, leading to grand theft and forgery-related charges.

Massive Crocodile Roadkill Snarls Traffic Near Florida Keys Naval Base (tampafp.com) — Traffic on U.S. 1 near Naval Air Station Key West briefly slowed Thursday morning as multiple agencies, including Key West Police, worked together to remove a nine-foot crocodile killed by a vehicle. Officials say no drivers were hurt, but the animal’s size required special handling and a coordinated response before traffic could return to normal.

Video shows hockey mask-wearing man attack Key West strip-club dancer (flkeysnews.com) — Key West police arrested a visiting Tennessee man after a security camera captured him grabbing a dancer at a Duval Street strip club, threatening her, and cutting her hair with scissors. Officers quickly located him nearby, recovered scissors and a pill, and booked him on multiple felony charges, while the shaken victim cooperated with investigators.
