• 9.28 DBOT Meeting (midfloridanewspapers.com) — Polk State College's District Board of Trustees will meet at the Lakeland Campus on Monday, September 28 at 4 p.m., giving local residents a chance to follow decisions affecting programs and policies. The public can attend in Room LTB 1100 on Winter Lake Road and may appeal board decisions if they secure a verbatim record. Disability accommodations are available with advance notice.
   

• 29 Year-Old Driver Killed In I-4 Crash Involving Lakeland Man Near SR 33 — Lakeland (dailyridge.com) — A deadly crash on I-4 near the State Road 33 exit left a 29-year-old Riverview driver dead and a 27-year-old Lakeland man with minor injuries. Florida Highway Patrol says the Riverview driver lost control, hit a crash attenuator, then spun into the Lakeland man's pickup. The investigation into the eastbound collision is still ongoing.
