Woman jailed for disorderly conduct after iced coffee isn't ready at Wawa: LPD (tampabay28.com) — Largo police arrested a 57-year-old St. Petersburg woman after an argument over an unavailable iced coffee at the U.S. 19 Wawa escalated into shoving a cup toward a manager and throwing ice in the vestibule. She later went to a nearby fast-food restaurant for coffee and was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on a $150 bond.
   

2. Lawsuit filed against Publix over recalled blueberries after woman's death (local3news.com) — A wrongful death lawsuit claims contaminated GreenWise Organic frozen blueberries bought at the Publix on Ulmerton Road in Largo caused a woman's death and seriously injured her son. The suit, filed in Pinellas County, follows a multistate E. coli O145 outbreak and expanded Publix recalls, raising urgent questions for local shoppers about recalled frozen berry products.
   

3. Pinellas Board asks for new school closure alternatives (baynews9.com) — Pinellas County Schools, headquartered in Largo, is delaying its second round of community meetings on proposed school closures until after an Oct. 6 board workshop, giving members more time to review feedback. Parents are pushing to keep schools like Sexton and Tarpon Springs Fundamental open, while the superintendent maintains closures are needed for the district's financial health.

Investigators tied extensive blood evidence to the defendant's truck, home, and arrest vehicle, and prosecutors are now seeking the death penalty while sentencing awaits.
