No FEMA help yet as Brevard families struggle for aid after floods (floridatoday.com) — Flooded households in south Melbourne are struggling to recover, with some older residents displaced after water inundated their homes. As of Friday evening, no federal disaster declaration had activated FEMA assistance, officials said. Residents needing shelter, food or clothing can call 211, while Brevard County is accepting requests for flood cleanup help.
   

2. Record rains overwhelm some Brevard County sewer plants (floridatoday.com) — About 5,000 gallons of sewage overflowed into Melbourne’s Crane Creek on Nov. 3 after heavy rain overwhelmed the sewer system near Bignonia Street. Flooding delayed cleanup by blocking access to some areas. The spill was among several across Brevard, including a treated wastewater discharge into the Indian River Lagoon in Titusville.
   

3. Brevard County races face recounts after razor-thin victory margins (wftv.com) — Two tight Brevard races will get another count in Melbourne on Tuesday, Nov. 10, with the public welcome to observe. Machine recounts for State House District 33 and Cape Canaveral City Council begin at 9 a.m. at 525 N. John Rodes Blvd. Manual recounts could follow if margins remain narrow enough.
   

4. Space Coast Credit Union donates $75,000 for Brevard County flood relief (wftv.com) — Flood recovery efforts serving displaced residents at Melbourne’s Wickham Park shelter are getting support from a $75,000 Space Coast Credit Union donation to the Red Cross and United Way Space Coast. Employees assembled relief kits at the shelter Friday, while United Way is coordinating volunteers and connecting residents with assistance.
   

5. South Georgia Tech stuns No. 21-ranked Eastern Florida in OT (albanyherald.com) — No. 21 Eastern Florida State fell 97–88 in overtime to South Georgia Tech in the Eastern Florida Classic opener in Melbourne. The Titans erased a two-point halftime deficit to force overtime, but the Jets outscored them 16–7 in the extra period for their first win of the season.
