• Video shows suspect punching man several times in Miami, claims his money was stolen, report says (nbcmiami.com subscription) — Police say a man was arrested after allegedly driving into a pedestrian, crashing into a building, and repeatedly punching him near Southwest 42nd Avenue and Fourth Street in Miami. Witness video and statements describe a violent confrontation that sent the victim to the hospital, while detectives investigate whether the suspect also used his vehicle as a weapon.
   

• Boca Raton couple sentenced for real estate scheme (wpbf.com) — A federal judge in Miami has sentenced Boca Raton resident Jean Joseph to 20 years in prison and his wife, Janalie Camille Bingham, to four years for a $50 million real estate investment fraud. Prosecutors say the couple ran Wells Real Estate Investment as a Ponzi-style scheme, diverting millions to trading, commissions, and personal expenses while FBI Miami continues investigating the case.
