The project complements broader sustainability efforts, from cleaner fuels to improved water management protecting Gordon River and Naples Bay, while supporting the airport’s vital public safety and economic roles. 
2. Former Naples attorney in fatal crash inches closer to appeal (naplesnews.com) — A former Naples attorney convicted in a 2022 hit-and-run that killed bicyclist Alberto Martinez Gonzalez is moving closer to an appeal hearing, now set for Sept. 17 in Orlando. She remains free on bond while arguing key evidence and her daughter’s potential testimony were mishandled, as the case continues to draw attention in Collier County.

Wine Festival founders invest $8 million in early education (floridaweekly.com) — Families across Collier County, including those near Naples Park Elementary, will see expanded early childhood education thanks to an $8 million, three-year investment from the Naples Children Foundation. Partnering with Grace Place and Collier County Public Schools, the initiative will add new Bright Beginnings sites this month and launch an accredited early learning program at Naples Park Elementary in January 2027, while also funding teacher support and kindergarten readiness efforts.
4. Naples man dies after crash on Davis Boulevard in Collier County (abc-7.com) — A 63-year-old Naples man died after his car rear-ended another vehicle in a left-turn lane on Davis Boulevard Wednesday morning, and troopers are probing whether a medical episode played a role. The North Fort Myers driver in the other car was uninjured as Florida Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the Collier County crash.
5. 'Superman in Concert' to Highlight Naples International Film Festival Closing Night (supermansupersite.com) — Naples film fans can cap this year’s Naples International Film Festival with a live-to-picture screening of the 1978 Superman film, accompanied by the Naples Philharmonic at Artis–Naples on October 25. The closing night includes an awards ceremony, reception, concert, and wrap party, with ticket packages starting at $88 and individual concert seats from $39.
